I may need to order this for JP for his b-day. I love bubbles. Somewhere I have a recipe for bubbles that involves dish soap and glycerin and it results in the ability to make huge, colorful bubbles.
When I was at Lollapalooza, they had people at the children’s stage showing these off. I was transfixed - they were so lovely. They seem to sell a bubble mix, too, if you can’t find the recipe. It seems like a great kids toy. I kind of want to try and make a giant bubble blower out of coat hangers or something.
When I was a kid I had one that was made out of a soft cotton rope attached to two handles. We’d dip the rope, open it and huge, billowing bubbles would flow out. It was fun and a lesson in patience, too- go to fast and the bubble would pop. There’s a certain Zen to bubble blowing.
