California Dreaming

Because I couldn’t think of a more clichéd title.

It’s really difficult for me to describe how California’s changed me. I’ve lived here for a year now, and I know I’m different, but I’m not always sure how. In Indiana, the “practicality” of your profession really matters. If you’re a writer, it’s important that you’ve sold something. Out here, you are what you claim to be. I love that. It’s liberating. I am now a programmer but in a week I could be a comedian. I am what I wish to be. I love that. Thanks, California, for being the place where I can become myself.
